In Odoo, it can sometimes happen that users receive unnecessarily many notifications or emails, or that they are added as followers to documents while this is actually not relevant. To improve this, we at Open2bizz have developed two modules that together contribute to a smarter and more efficient way of working within Odoo.
Module 1: No automatic email when assigning tasks
By default, a user in Odoo automatically receives an email as soon as he or she is linked to a project task. This can be useful, but often it results in a large amount of notifications.
With our module, that is a thing of the past. An extra field is added in the settings, allowing you to easily indicate for which models the automatic emails should be blocked. This can be applied to project tasks, but also to other models such as sales orders.
Specifically, this means that when someone is assigned to a task within a project, that person no longer receives an automatic email about the assignment. A lot clearer, without missing important information.
(Watch the video here in which we demonstrate how this module works.)
Within Odoo, when creating a sales order, the assigned salesperson is automatically added as a follower. This makes sense, as they are responsible for communication with the customer. When creating an invoice, the salesperson from the order is then automatically carried over and added as a follower. In practice, however, this often results in this salesperson receiving unnecessary messages during invoicing, while in most organizations, other employees are responsible for following up on invoices.
Our second module prevents this. When an invoice is created, only the user who actually creates the invoice is added as a follower. The salesperson is no longer automatically included. This prevents sales staff from receiving messages that are not relevant to them.
(We have also made a short video for this module to demonstrate how it works.)
Both modules have the same goal: to ensure that Odoo works more efficiently by avoiding unnecessary notifications and irrelevant followers. Together, they contribute to more focus in work, less noise in your inbox, and better collaboration within Odoo.
